Google invited everyone to answer the Webmaster Quiz questions to test their own knowledge and skills.
The quiz consists of forty questions related to webmaster work and Google. Questions can be discussed on the Webmaster Help Forum. Although the questions are in English, those working with English-language resources and owning a Google Webmaster Central account will find them straightforward.
Many questions involve redirects, the robots.txt file, and many concern building a site for optimal indexing.
A bit more about the search engine leader… Looking at the past year, it’s impossible not to note that Google exceeded all forecasts and posted 50% revenue growth ($6.52 billion, 54% above 2008 revenues). This success was driven, first, by the crisis, and second, by the fact that small and mid-sized businesses began more actively using the internet’s advertising opportunities — online, the cost per customer contact is much lower than on TV, radio, or outdoor. Precisely because of the crisis, companies became more careful with ad budgets and dropped ineffective advertising in favour of more effective tools. Meanwhile, Google processes more than half of US search traffic (per comScore analysts), and contextual advertising revenue is the main income source for the #1 search engine.
